March 5, 2010 - Alice

Charles Dodgson's novel: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland injects new life in Disney's rendition of Alice in Wonderland starring Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter.  This 1865 novel holds special meaning to all of us... even if you've never seen or heard of its title, you can only imagine the adventures and wonders that lie ahead.  Alice leads us down a path of uncertainty and a continued effort in finding the "white rabbit."  Her curiosity sparks a whirlwind journey filled with creativity and eccentric individuals.  As we follow Alice down the rabbit hole once more, which by the way has superlative meaning in my book... we join in its influential narrative, and reminisce of a childhood filled with fascination.

Today, cinemas across the nation and world openly accept Tim Burton's long awaited piece.  I can't begin to express my excitement! Tim in his successful career has hollowed a name of imagination and memorable films - Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, Sleepy Hollow, Big Fish, & Sweeny Todd!  All bearing his unique stamp in film and artistic gift.  Tomorrow I join a special engagement of friends and celebrating my good friend Cydney Moora's birthday.  Our entourage leads us to the front doors of fantasy, embracing our child like spirit.

"Off with her head!"

All the best,

VP
