March 12, 2010 - Swing Vote

I never know where my blogs will take me... their unplanned, and motivated entirely by my environment.  Only then do I find my inspiration - opportunities for growth unfold when I least expect it.  Sometimes I stress about my topic for the day, seeking impulse research... surely it's not that bad, but the point I'm trying to make is this:  "All good things come to he who waits" - a remarkable proverb if utilized appropriately.  Today was one of those days... found in a simple by pleasing activity: "swinging."  I haven't swung in a long time, probably since elementary school.  My kids love this channeled energy, watching their smiles filled with laughter was enough to hop on board!  My interest to engage was exhilarating, found in a simple form of entertainment.
It's easy to become absorbed in our daily lives - spreading our time and energy towards tasks of importance, or so we think.  Maturing has a friendly reminder of more responsibility, thankfully my reluctant attitude is invited back through the eyes of my children.  A simple life, a life of moment by moment synergy.  By embracing a life of simplicity, only then does our quality of life begin.  I have made it a personal goal to see life as it comes, taking one breath at a time, and smiling more.  Maintaining a balance is demanding, but not unreasonable.

I encourage you to get outside, breath the fresh air and be proactive! Leave the cell phone at home and permit yourself the opportunity to enjoy life's simplest luxuries.  The realization can be life-changing... "we live but a fraction of our lives" ~ Henry David Thoreau.

All the best,

VP

  1. 1st I am in love with that black and white photo on your banner!

I also agree with you, I have been trying to appreciate each moment more and more, and with that my creative energy opens up better. There is nothing more important than the simplicities of the small things and the moments that are all to often taken for granted.
